are female.
The statistics
were announced by Dubai Statistics Centre, which pointed out that the increase
in the number of male population reflects on the increased pace of
construction and economic activities, for which a big number of unskilled
labourers are brought to the emirate.
The
census also revealed that the majority of the population comprises people in
the age group of 30-34 years. This category amounts to 256,638 or 19.42 per
cent. This category was only 139,106 in the year 2000, which shows that there
has been an increase of 84.49 per cent in the last five years.

category in the population is people in the age group of 25-29 years. This
group’s population is 256,384 or 19.40 per cent. This category was only

The reason
behind the increased population in these categories is attributed to the big
leap in the construction and economic projects that require foreign labour
force in big number.
